Erasmus

Erasmus for study purposes

For all students, the University offers the opportunity to gain experience abroad through an Erasmus + scholarship.

You can participate in Erasmus + mobility programs for study if you are regularly enrolled and if there is an agreement between universities for the destination you would like to choose.

The minimum period of stay is 3 months, the maximum 12.

Every year, an announcement is published which always refers to the academic year following the one in which the application is made. Don't miss the orientation days!

To complete the application and participate in the selection, make sure you have all the information to hand well in advance.

If you pass the selection procedure, you will have to officially accept your place. If you change your mind, you can opt out, but you will pay a penalty fee,

Before leaving, you will need to fill in a study project called the Learning Agreement, by consulting with the contact person for your course. The Italian and foreign referents must approve the programme of selected courses

Furthermore, before leaving, you will need to sign a Financial Agreement at the Rector’s Offices in Vercelli. You will also have to complete some paperwork at the destination university.

At the end of the period of stay, the Teaching Commission of your Degree Programme will recognize the credits accrued abroad as established in the Learning Agreement. Please note: if you have not accrued activities recognizable in training credits, the contribution you have received must be returned in full. If you return earlier than expected, you will have to return part of the contribution received in proportion to the reduction in the period of stay.

If you belong to a category of students with disabilities, additional forms of support are provided.

On the University page, Call Erasmus+ for study purposes  you will find all the information. In particular, on the Forms and useful documents page you will find all the forms that are useful for starting the procedure.

On the Department page dedicated to internationalisation you will find other information, in particular the names of the contact persons of the degree programmes and the specific DiSIT procedures.

Erasmus for traineeship

Through the Erasmus + Traineeship Programme, you have the opportunity to access internships in companies, training and research centers present in one of the countries participating in the Program. European institutions or organisations managing European programmes are excluded. For the internship period, you receive an established European contribution and you have the opportunity to acquire specific skills and better understanding of the socio-economic culture of the host country, with the support of preparation or refresher courses in the language of the host country (or work terminology).

Also in this case, every year a Call is published which refers to the following academic year. To apply, it is preferable that you already have an internship project approved by a teacher of your course and signed by the DiSIT contact person for internationalisation.

Before departure, you must be in possession of a work programme (Learning Agreement for Traineeship) signed by you, the University and the host organisation. The internship period must be covered by an internship contract signed by you and the University.

Specific financial contributions are envisaged for Erasmus students with disabilities.

The internship must have a minimum duration of 2 months and cannot exceed 6 months. Activities lasting less than 2 months or longer than 6 are neither eligible nor fundable. The internship must be carried out without interruption.

At the end of the period, the University guarantees you full recognition of the activities indicated in the Learning Agreement for Traineeship and successfully completed. To access this programme, it is necessary to be enrolled in a degree course at our University. Consequently, recent graduates, doctoral students, or students enrolled in single courses cannot do so.

Information is available on the UPO website and in the Department Internationalisation area.
